Since the 1980s, Fractal theory has developed and is being used by some physicists to explain the nature of the universe and by some astrologers to explain the Hermetic Principle in more mathematically precise terms. Since a fractal is a precise mathematical function that maintains its proportionality when calculated on different scales, astrologers have embraced it to explain secondary progressions, solar arc directions, and other progressions rates such as quarterly progressions and an array of other progression and solar arc rates. This means that the methods traditionally used by astrologers to calculate secondary progressions and solar arc directions have a small error built into them, which makes them increasingly inaccurate the older the person becomes. These errors have serious implications for rectification and Electional Astrology. This also means that the default settings in astrological software must be corrected, and the curriculum in astrological schools needs to be updated.
Ron will show you how to calculate Secondary and Solar Arc Directions correctly, point out why the traditional method is incorrect, and describe the magnitude of the error. TRo will then show you how to set up your favourite astrological software (Sirius, Solar Fire, Kepler 8, Astro Gold, and Janus) to correct the error. He will also offer a method to use when your software only uses the traditional method. Lastly, Ron will show us how to calculate other fractal progressions, for example, quarterly progressions.
